Janet, You Showed The World
You showed the world how to be happy
That it truly is better to give than to receive
That you can give all you have and not feel empty
That by giving everything, you have more than anyone
That it’s not what you have to show, but what you have inside that’s
important
That you can warm the world with a smile
That it takes very little to make someone feel good, anyone can do it.
That a hug costs nothing but gives everything
That no amount of money can buy happiness
That happiness really is found within yourself
That you can give and bring happiness to others if you try
That sometimes you have to think with your heart to make the right
decision
That caring and true compassion mean more than anything else
That respect is something that you should give naturally
That you can easily earn respect from others but can lose it just as
quickly
That the look in your eyes can speak as loud as the words from your
mouth
That your actions speak louder than any spoken words
That the feeling in your heart always shows through, no matter what
That you cannot fake love, caring, warmth or compassion
That sometimes people make it hard to love them, but you find a way
anyway
That sometimes you have to look deep inside yourself to find who you
really are
That the world is not fair and no one can change that
That life is filled with disappointments and you have to learn how to
deal with them
That you can find good in everyone, even when it seems impossible
That you can teach people how to be nice by being an example yourself
That diversity can be learned at a very early age
That the world would be a very boring place if we were all the same
That each of us brings a unique gift to this world
That we all make mistakes but can learn from them
That you take the bad with the good and make the best of it
That bad things happen to good people and we will never know why
That a friend will always stand by you and is yours until the end
That a true friendship has no end; it goes on forever.
That a parent’s love is unconditional and endless and a sibling’s love
is the same
That the joy and love you give other people is never forgotten
That out of sight does not in any way mean out of mind
You showed us that an eleven year old has the power to change the world
And so do we.
