On August 10th, 2006, Janet, a seemingly healthy 11
year old girl collapsed during cheerleading practice and went into
sudden cardiac arrest. She was brought to a local hospital, but doctors
were unable to save Janet. The cause of her SCA has not yet been
determined. Thousands of children die each year from undiagnosed heart
disease. Many have no symptoms. Janet’s Fund is dedicating to raising
awareness, providing Automated External Defibrillators at youth
activities, sports, schools and public fields, providing CPR & AED
Training to youth coaches, teachers, parents and community members and
holding pediatric cardiac pre-screening events.
Together, we will build the Wall of Hearts helping to protect our
children from sudden cardiac arrest. This wall will be proudly displayed
at the Somerset Patriots Ballpark on Sunday, May 6, 2007 – Officially
‘Janet’s Day at the Ballpark.’ After the game, it will be displayed at
The Janet Rocks Concert on June 2, 2007 in Warren and other locations to
be announced.
