AFFILIATION WITH
PARENT HEART WATCH

The Janet Zilinski Memorial
Fund is a proud member of Parent Heart Watch (PHW). PHW is a
state-by-state network of parents and partners dedicated to reducing the
often disastrous effects of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in children.
PHW was established by parents,
for parents and families throughout the US, who have been affected by
SCA. PHW advocates for awareness and change – with one goal –
protecting children from SCA.
Each year, thousands of
children, teens and young adults suffer SCA and often the outcome is
sudden death. These deaths can be prevented by raising awareness,
(cardiac) pre-screenings for youth, CPR and Automated External
Defibrillator (AED) training and AED placement. PHW members work with
legislatures on state and federal levels to pass laws that require AED
placement in schools, playing fields and other public places.
The Janet Zilinski Memorial
Fund was created to honor the beautiful memory of Janet who brought
positive change to the world and would have continued to do so had she
not become a young victim of SCA. Our goal is to prevent any other
family from being affected by SCA. We have affiliated ourselves with
PHW and are dedicated to helping them reach their vision of becoming the
national voice for raising awareness and making the change so needed in
this world for the prevention of SCA in our youth.
